Meet Richard D. Bloomberg, MD, FACS, FRCSC
Dr. Bloomberg is a general, robotic and advanced laparoscopic surgeon, included in Buffalo Spree’s list of "Western New York’s Top Doctors.” He specializes in robotic and minimally invasive surgery for all types of hernias and abdominal surgeries including gallbladder, appendix, intestines and others. In addition, he performs surgeries for all types of skin growths and offers an in-office, virtually painless IRC “laser” treatment for hemorrhoids.
Dr. Bloomberg holds the position of Associate Chair of Surgery at Sisters Hospital in Buffalo as well as the Robotic General Surgery Chair.
Dr. Bloomberg completed a fellowship in advanced laparoscopic surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City following a general surgery residency at the University of Toronto. He earned his medical degree at McGill University in Montreal. He is fluent in both English and French.
Dr. Bloomberg is board certified in general surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the UB School of Medicine and is vice president of the Buffalo Surgical Society. He is a member of several professional organizations, including:

Dr. Bloomberg welcomes new patients and provides surgical consultations at the West Seneca and Kenmore offices.
In his spare time, Dr. Bloomberg enjoys traveling—especially cruising—exploring new destinations, and unwinding on the beach.
